This week me and my class have covered a lot of things we've done a lot of exercises mouth exercises ,physical exercises etc. For example tongue twisters were the main exercises we did to really articulate words to the best of our abilities this is important to be able to pronounce words cleary so that your audience can understand everything. This is always key when doing a performance to get you into shape and do the best you can do, this was all for Our Country's Good.
On the other hand in Sharon's lessons we've been practicing elements of Madea because we are joining with the dance students , doing Madea with them. This has been interesting due to the fact that its very different to Our Country's good , this show is all about how wrong society was back then and people speaking there minds. My voice has been praised by Sharon to fit the Madea play very well. A big challenge for me is being in to shows it really bring out my true colours of being a good actor because I play two very different characters we will see how it turns out.
Stanislavski's techniques have helped me especially circles of attention which is isolating yourself to avoid unnecessary tension when developing a character. If unnecessary tension happens the audience will think what is he doing? It confuses the audience and we don't want that. This has helped to develop my character more and play it to perfection.
Overall this week has been very productive and interesting exploring the elements of two characters.
