On the 16 th of December me and my class watched Puss in the boots I enjoyed it very much first things first all the cast were fantastic , I was very impressed by the performances of every individual involved in the show. All the actors spoke with projection so I heard every word to perfection from all the way at the back I heard everything very cleary. I could tell all the actors worked very hard to put this piece together with a show as big as this for them, you have to be commited I could tell they were all commited to this show. I thought the actions used by the actors brought out their characters to the best they could be brought out ,I praise the cast very highly.
The set of the show was very good from the images from the projector and the backdrops used this really made the show stick out very much and assisted the actors on stage to deliver a brilliant performance. The backdrops really give the audience more interest in the show and makes it clear to us of what is happening in the show and the whereabouts of characters and purposes of characters in the play. Back drops are really imporatnt elements of plays to help the audience understand exactly what is happening without any confusion running across the audience. For me personally I find backdrops very interesting , I anaylse them carefully to form an opinion for if it suits the style of the play. In the show Puss in boots the set really suited the play to perfection.
The costumes for the characters I thought were spot on and brought out everything the characters really needed to be brought out. The costumes assisted the actors on stage to put on a great performance , the costumes give the audience an idea of what that character will be like. Costumes are very improtant is well to completely show off what the character will be like through out the show. Costumes must suit the style of the play because it brings out the characters personality in the show.
I was very impressed by the lighting and sound affects of the show, lights and sound give the show another pair of legs and creates a certain mood in the piece making it more interesting to the audience. The lighting affects in this show really made the play stood out and made it even more good then it was , I liked the lights in the piece hopefully in plays coming up for me we can have a play around with the lights. Lighting and sound create an atmosphere to make the play even more engaging then it is. Lights and sound are key to making the audience be on the edge of their seats, like I said I would like in the future to use lighting and soun to my advantage when doing a play.
Overall I thought the play was brilliant , I praise all the aspects that went into this play for me it was a very successfull play ,well done to everyone in it who delievered a great performance keep up the good work.

The Homecoming Evaulation
The Homecoming was written in 1964, it premiered 1965 in London and 1967 in New York.
The playwright is Harold Pinter , Pinter was born and bread in Hackney ,London. He was born the 10th of October and died 24th December 2008. Pinter's career as a playwright began with the production of The Room in 1957. Pinter is best known for his plays The Birthday Party (1957), The Homecoming and Betrayal(1978), his best known plays have all been adapted on screen. He has also directed and acted in his own film productions .
The main starting point is Max the father talking with his son Lenny, Max is explaining a story that happened years ago but Lenny in his thoughts is ignoring him reading the newspaper but also saying to himself what is he on about. The main characters are Max (Father of 3 sons) a retired butcher in his seventies , Lenny apparently a pimp in his early thirties , Teddy a Philosophy Professor in his middle thirties who is married with 3 sons, Joey an aspiring boxer who works in demolition , Uncle Sam Max's brother a man of sixty three who is a chauffeur and Ruth Teddy's wife in her early thirties. There situations are pretty much having there own lifes and putting up with each other in the same house. Only man who's situaution is different from the faimly is Teddy who lives in his own life in America with his wife.
The Designer of The Homecoming is Soutra Gilmour , I thought the design of the show was great , it really went well with the style of show and assisted the characters in a great way to make the show really stand out which it did. I like the setting of the living room with the grand chair for the father max located on the other side of living room with nothing surrounding it , it really stuck out to the audience. I liked the design of the back door it really stood out and was a big part of the show , so did the stairs going down and up I liked the way it was designed in the corner. The whole design to me really made the whole show stand out.
The light designer of The Homecoming is Richard Howell, the lighting contributed a lot to The Homecoming to give the play a sense of mood. There was one part in the show were the lighting really stood out it was when a new scene was introduced the lighting would get lighter and the sound would get louder , then the character will come in everything would go back to normal. This was a great way of using lights to add an atmosphere to the play. They did this across the play this lighting affect gave the show an extra pair of legs and assisted the play to be even more sucessful. They used this lighting effect to establish different parts of the day. They used this effect were all the characers came together in a line smoking this added a very dark mood at that time in the play.
In terms of costumes the actors wore it really suited there characters. The costumes always give an idea of what that character is like for example smart clothing shows us how muture that character is it could mean an intelligent/sucessful person , scruffy clohting would suggest imature , not well mannered abit of a joker you could say. The costumes in The Homecoming really brought out the characters especially Teddy who is the most intelligent person out of the family from his clothing I could tell straight away that he was a sucessful and wealthy man. Uncle Sam had smart clothes I could tell he was a well matured man, Max from his clothing were just casual for men around his age. Lennie's clothes were casual for men in his error and Ruth clothes showed how wealthy she was. Clothing brings out peoples personality and from the clothing in this play it really stood out for me it was a well designed play. The other son Joey clothign showed an early adult which was casual.
I enjoyed the piece I praise the cast and the design , lighting of the show all these elements of the show made the show sucessful. The cast were fantatsic actors what should out for me the chemistry between the Max and his sons at eahc others throats but I could see the love they had for each other. The lighting really brought out the show it was some of the best lighting effects I've ever seen , I would love one day to use lights that in one of my performances. The design was very good it really set the scene ,so we had a clear view of everything of what was going on. The only unsucessful things of the show was that why they presentend the character Joey with such a deep voice I really didn't get that was it nescessary? The story was very confusing I didn't really get the concept of the show at all. Last thing is that the play was very sexist Was Harold Pinter trying to tell us how women were treated in the 60's?

Evaluation for Our Country's Good
When researching about Mr Stanislavski I came across a lot of his techniques , I used some of his techniques for example he wanted actors to produce realistic characters he was very fond on this . I found this very useful to help me to develop my character and make as realistic as possible. Another technique I applied to the development of my character is the technique was Motivation which was using your mind or emotions to stimulate your actions. This really makes you think about why you should do this action , the motivation technique really helps you to make your character realistic. Research I carried out on the play the background story really helped to understand my character even more and the what was going on in the society. This gave me straight away an idea of what my characters purpose was in the scene I performed, he wants to leave the play so his whole purpose was to persuade his Captain for him to leave. The whole play is based on convicts who put on production, all of this background research gave me a recipe from where to start from. Stanislavski techniques really link with this play. One thing that really goes with this play is one of Stanislavski's ways of learning he said when playing a character ,which was when playing a bad character look for where he is good and when playing a bad character look for where he is good. This play is about convicts taking a turn in life to do something good , the playwright of Our Country's Good believed convicts could turn there lives around through theatre. This works with Our Country's good because the convicts are bad but like Stanislaviski said look for where there good. This helped me to develop my character.
We developed a lot of skills ,we practiced various amounts of Technical skills ,we worked a lot on vocal skills mainly practicing on articulation of words and speaking clearly. For this we worked on a lot of tongue twisters to help us speak very clearly when delivering words due to the fact some words were hard to pronounce. We developed a lot of physical skills due to the fact of using Stanislavski's physical skills which were unique from others. For us to make our characters very realistic ,we worked a lot of voice exercises to really show our characters emotions. As in so at sad moments talk with a lower voice and when angry talk with a very loud voice. I think your physical skills are very important to the audience to show the status of your character. Next time I would love to player a character with the highest status to really challenge my self to play character with such authority over others.
I felt the collaborative performance with the dancers went brilliant ,this brought out more of our abilities to try work in different ways to do something different. Working with the dancers gave us good experience with working under different circumstances. I must say this was one of my favorite performances I've ever down at Westminster Kingsway college , I'm a fan of drama pieces with elements of dance pieces , it worked very well. I believe we hit the nail on the head and went over our expectations we were set to achieve. One thing particularly I was surprised at how fast we were able to put the acting and dancing together. At the end we collaborated very well ,I was proud of what we all achieved together well done to everyone.
What was strong in my performance was the relationship between the characters , my partner Segun had more authority over me as he was the Captain , I really showed this in our performance by how I listened to him and looked up to him. Segun showed he had authority by his stance during the performance and how he persuaded me not to leave the production. Another thing that was strong was our facial expressions when saying certain things. My facial expressions were confused most of the time because my partner Segun was talking about things that my character Ralph didn't have a clue what he was on about. Seguns facial expressions were serious due to the things he was talking about. This really worked so the audience could understand even more about the story. What was weak was the use of space , we could have used the space a bit more to our advantage. Next time I would like to use a bit more space. For example when my partner was talking he was telling me stories he should have been walking around a bit more to show how much he was into his story and me when he says good luck with the play I should have been a bit closer to the exit of the tent . For next time space and movement needs a bit more work.
The production elements were successful but were very basic we didn't really use anything fancy just a simple turn on and off. Looking ahead next time we do show, I would love to have different lightnings. For example red lighting, circular lighting , I liked the lighting from the Level 3 year 2's performance like there red lighting was very cool. Next time I would like further develop the use of production elements have a play around it and use to our advantage for our next production. Furthermore for next term I would like use sound affects it gives more tension and atmosphere for productions ,its a big help and makes everything more interesting.
This term my skills have improved a lot in everything ,I like say all my skills have improved particularly my articulation due the number of tongue twisters we have done have really helped me to pronounce words to the best of my ability. This term my goals were to have a successful performance with the dancers and my other performance which I believe I achieved. For this performance the reason I believe it was successful was due to me practicing in my own time vocals tongue twisters to nail my performance which I believe I did. My goals for next term is to deliver another successful performance and to carry on the effort I'm giving this course. Furthermore other goals I would like to fulfill is to play a another challenging character.

16th -20th of November 2015
This week has been very productive, me and my class mates have gone deeper in to our plays for the Christmas time performance. This week I've understood my character even more and learn't all my lines so this meant I could play around with my character even more and make it a perfect performance.
Overall this week has been very productive and interesting exploring the elements of two characters.
This week me and my class have covered a lot of things we've done a lot of exercises mouth exercises ,physical exercises etc. For example tongue twisters were the main exercises we did to really articulate words to the best of our abilities this is important to be able to pronounce words cleary so that your audience can understand everything. This is always key when doing a performance to get you into shape and do the best you can do, this was all for Our Country's Good.
On the other hand in Sharon's lessons we've been practicing elements of Madea because we are joining with the dance students , doing Madea with them. This has been interesting due to the fact that its very different to Our Country's good , this show is all about how wrong society was back then and people speaking there minds. My voice has been praised by Sharon to fit the Madea play very well. A big challenge for me is being in to shows it really bring out my true colours of being a good actor because I play two very different characters we will see how it turns out.
Stanislavski's techniques have helped me especially circles of attention which is isolating yourself to avoid unnecessary tension when developing a character. If unnecessary tension happens the audience will think what is he doing? It confuses the audience and we don't want that. This has helped to develop my character more and play it to perfection.
Overall this week has been very productive and interesting exploring the elements of two characters.

Our countries good
We recently have started a new play called Our countries good , I've been given the role of Ralph an actor taking part in a play. My scene is having a conversation with my director , its about me wanting not to be in the play anymore and my director is trying to convince me to stay in the performance. My objectives is try to not be in the performance but my director is trying to persuade me to stay in it. So I must try tell him I don't want to be in it ,avoiding confrontation.
Right now I'm learning my lines , my process for this is doing it in the mirror watching my self act , it helps to put me in zone as myself as the audience. Also another way I learn my lines look at it say it to myself and if I forget I just take another look and keep doing till it sticks in my head.
Recently with Rob we performed it to him and he tuned it for us giving me and my partner direction, my partner Segun plays a character Philip. Seguns character is yammering on about wanting me to stay in the production but talking absolute nonsense to my character , I'm just there thinking in my head what the hell is he talking about? I must show this through my characters facial expressions this is very key. Mostly my teacher Rob told me like he always does play off the other characters.
My aim for this play is to play this character to perfection and take everything Rob gives me and utilize this to the best of my ability. As an actor everything your told you it must be synced in to your brain , you must remained focused the whole way through you to the standards your expected to and move forward with everything you do.

Evaulations
In my own performance my strengths were following my Directors (Rob) directions to the best of my ability and that he didn't have to tell me twice the same improvement to make. I got it the first time which is what I label as one of my biggest strengths. For example I would always be moving my feet while acting which was never good but , Rob told me to stand still its always better. I took this on and I noticed straight away that it makes your acting much more believable because one of your biggest challenges are your audience and if your moving your feet when you shouldn't be , they will just be asking themselves questions in their heads why is he moving? It will overall confuse the audience. Furthermore another strength for me would be my ability to play a blind character which was my hardest role to date so far because you can't make no eye contact with anyone ,even if its a little glance at someone straight away you lose the status of your character. In this role I kept my eye contact past the audience to the corner of the room , I was told by Rob instead of just looking up ,he told me to focus myself on the corner of the room which would make my character more effective. I thought I played my character to the best of my ability given the circumstances of the character. The only weakness I had was I was to into my character to the point I was standing on stage like a statue with my arms sticking out to much, which let me down. Again this would confuse the audience with them asking why is he so still? Overall I thought my performance met the standards of my teachers and audience. In my group our Strengths were the tension rising between us two with what was going on in the piece. By this I mean the different emotions had to be delivered for different lines for example some lines ,had to be said with anger behind them but not by shouting only at absolutely necessary times which were done. That was my groups biggest strength was getting the emotions bang on correct at the right times when saying the lines. One more thing is that once again the tension was played to perfection we created the exact mood we wanted especially between the two main characters. (Tyrisias ,Oedipus)
The other performances I watched was the level 3 musical theatre class and music class and the level 2 music ,acting. The content of the musical theatre was very different due to the fact the level 2's did devising pieces while the musical theatre did scripted pieces. For example one of devising pieces was based on two men who decided to join the army and left there wife's behind. Which I thought was a good idea to base a piece around. Both groups did very well I was impressed I thought they delivered a good successful piece. The strong points for the drama groups was the ability of working together to make good piece and the especially the chemistry between each other from the level 2's. The level 3's musical theatre strong points were, working as a whole group together to make a good piece worked very well because there piece on stage required the whole class to be on stage. For the level 2's there weakness was projection for some of the actors I couldn't hear what they were saying. Furthermore all acts entertained the audience to a good level, so its safe to say all the acts delivered a successful performance. I thought they used good technical skills which always adds to the mood of the piece, all acts used this successfully.
Overall my Greek play I did Oedipus, the whole play really was a standout performance for me due to the fact it was very different character from previous characters I've played. I played a blind profit accusing Oedipus of murder , this was my hardest character to date because everything I had to say was to be underplayed and also not to make eye contact with anyone. What really made it special for me was the fact playing a blind character which I have never done before. It was an interesting experience for me. When playing a blind character you can't do the normal mechanics of a human being , so it was an interesting journey for me to see how I adapted to this character. This is what made it special behind the scenes of show ,when it came to the actual performance that was different. The standout moment in the performance for me was me standing their looking in the corner of the room accusing Oedipus, the whole piece was standout performance as I stated earlier on. Playing the blind character, it was eating at me to watch my performance to see how I played this blind. That's what made it special for me playing the hardest character of my life that's really made it special playing a character being very different to other characters I've played. Certainly this blind profit was the most interesting character I've ever played.
The conventions differ when it comes to a music show and theatre show, its always louder when its a concert or festival because what makes it good at those shows are the audiences, who are there to join in to create an atmosphere. The whole point at a gig is to be jumping around making noise. Its different at the theatre because actors ,if theres noise the actors get distracted its not fair on them. Imagine standing there trying to remember lines and the audience is making a lot of noise its going to distract you isn't it. At a gig the audience don't distract you because the whole point is singing or rapping along with the artists who are on stage. So noise is absolutely necessary or the gig is rubbish without noise. A few years ago I went to the old vic to watch the Valley of astonishment, I had a water bottle in my hand I crunched it once by mistake and a lady in the audience got very annoyed. So even the audience expect other audiences to be quite while actors are on stage which is completely right even if you make a noise by accident. Now if I did that at a gig no one would notice they would be to busy jumping and singing to hear me.

12-16 October 2015 level 3 performing arts
On Monday we had Rob as usual for 4 hours ,in this lesson we just rehearsed for the whole 4 hours then performed them to Rob. Rob again gave us improvements he gave me a different improvement was to not pause on some lines , as I did on a few lines and you lose the emotion if you pause. Then after the dance students joined us because they needed some sort of interactions with people so they came to our class and we did some activity. Which was we had to make scenes from someone telling us what to do and we had ten seconds to do it while the dancer were dancing around us . This was really good and helped us with interacting with other sector performers. After we had Sharon's lesson , in this lesson we rehearsed is well for a good 30 minutes then Sharon asked us to do our scenes but this time mumbling our lines rather then speaking in the language the play was set in. This helped us to really see if we knew our plays that well and what comes next without speaking English. The tricky part was keeping the emotions of the characters the same as if we were speaking English.
Tuesday we didn't have college as it was our day and as usual I worked Tuesday.
On Wednesday was our big day it was me and my class mates first performance of the year. First Rob gave us rehearsal time for about 45 minutes this was very helpful, then it came our big first performance. Everything did great it was an enjoyable day, I was very nervous I don't know why . I thought I did well it was my first performance since Don Juan last June so I was a bit shaky. A couple of things I need to work on is slowing down a bit I said some of my lines very fast, my last improvement was my arms were out a lot I was to still at times. I was very nervous this is one of the reasons ,next time I know not to be so nervous and relax lets hope for my next performance I'm relaxed.
On Thursday we had Rob but we didn't really have a lesson as Rob was busy with the level 2's ,it was there performance day so he just explained our trip for friday to the Haymarket which looks like great fun. After this I went to watch the levels 2acting , music and year one level 3 , this was very good I was impressed with the whole show I had fun well done to the level 2's great work.
On Friday we didn't do much due to the fact we went on a trip , a Q&A session with Mark Gatiss. Which was good some interesting questions were asked , it was good knowledge this should help in my future for acting.

5th-9th of october level 3 performing arts 2015
On Monday we had Rob as usual for 4 hours today, all we did was rehearse and rehearse. Rob did group by group in the theatre while the me and the others rehearsed in another room waiting for Rob. When Rob called our group we just had to perform to Rob while he was giving us directions just really to tune our piece and get 100 per cent performance ready for next week the big day which I'm looking forward to. Rob mainly directed me to look in the corner of the room to show I'm a blind character , he also told me to talk in riddles to show how I think I'm right and my characters knows everything but the man on stage doesn't have a clue what's he's on about. Rob directions to me really helped to really understand even more about my character which was very helpful. After Robs lesson we had Sharon ,in this lesson we did more monologue work this included joining pairs and explaining our back story of our monologues we did last week. Furthermore after this exercise we were asked to write our own monologues. And join a partner and they would perform our written monologues to the class. This was very helpful hopefully all of this should help me and my classmates in the bright future to come. My monologue I wrote was about love, describing the women in my life I picked love because I knew I could make a monologue easily out of it. This exercise was fun ,it gave us good experience to play around with speeches which helps us a lot.
On Tuesday we didn't have college a usual as its our day off. On Tuesday I just worked.
On Wednesday I had Sharon first thing at 10 O'clock for tutorial, in this tutorial Sharon explained a few things that's expected of us to stay on this course after October. After this she asked us to go into groups and make a list of things we need for behaviour. We had examples like focus ,because if your focused you don't want to mess round. That was about it in Sharon's lesson just to remind us what they expect of us some people. Need to be told more then once. Furthermore after tutorial we were supposed to have Rob but he was not available. We were set a task to do by Rob writing an essay on Greek theatre.
My final lesson was my certificate lesson Photography I just realised I haven't mentioned. Basically what I have been doing is using strips of paper and putting objects on top , exposing it to light which creates the outlines of the object. For this process you expose the piece of power then put them into chemicals and he image comes out its really cool at the end of the day its a new experience for me.
On Thursday I had my English lesson in the morning, news came to us that instead of writing a film review ,we would have to write our own creative writing piece. We had to take a name of a movie and make up a story with a title of a movie, I picked shutter island. After we had Rob, Rob was still finding tuning for the other groups. So we didn't have a lesson with Rob he just opened rooms for us to do self directed learning. In self directed learning I rehearsed my lines over and over again , just to see if I could add more emphasis on my behalf. Furthermore even though I knew all my lines I kept saying them out loud just to make sure I was ready for a performance next Wednesday which is very exciting to me.
On Friday I had my English lesson in the morning in this lesson we just practised writing our own creative writing pieces. Hayley our English teacher gave us English packs to help us with vocabulary and ingredients needed in our creative writing pieces for good marks. After my English lesson we had Rob for the rest of that day in this lesson we recorded letters we wrote last week in character of our Greek theatre scripts. I'm Tryisisias a blind prophet accusing Oedipus of being a murdered. My letter was a written to his wife to Jocasta to give him to me to face justice for the crimes he has done. This was a good exercise to see how we really know the background of our characters and play. Help us smash the shapes of out characters the best we can. After this we did something very interesting doing our Scenes in our play Oedipus but converting our lines to modern language. This really helped me to understand my character fully and see if I know the character as well as I say I do. This exercise also really helped to see if I could use the emotions of my character in the modern error we live in.

28th-2nd of October level 3 performing arts
On Monday I had Rob for 4 hours during this lesson we covered a lot of techniques as usual. In this lesson firstly , Me and my class did some tongue twisters , body relaxing techniques etc to get us into shape for the lesson . These exercises are essential to help us get into the right mind to be rehearsing to our full capacity. Once again the whole class performed there pieces but not in the normal way we do so , this time it was a bit different. Rob shouted out different emotions at first for example ,we were doing our scenes then Rob would shout out emotions such as sad and we would have to apply to this to our scene. This was Robs idea of making our acting lessons more fun and interesting rather then doing our scenes like we always do the same mixing it up a bit was really fun. After Rob gave us different genres to do our scenes from ,this was really fun Rob was giving us genres like western , James bond and detective etc. This was funnier then doing the same every lesson it made it much more engaging thanks to Rob.
Furthermore my last lesson was with Sharon ,in this lesson me and my class mates did our monologues this was for us to get into the hang of auditions , that hopefully should be coming up in my future. Sharon's main improvement for me was not to give to much away about my self as the judges will have second thoughts on weather to work with me. This was helpful for me to help me feel the moment in the auditions to do the best I can and ready for real life auditions.
On Tuesday was our day off this day wasn't good for me as I was ill.
On Wednesday I did not attend college as I was ill.
Thursday I was well enough to come in which was good. This day was relatively short. In the morning I had English at 9.15 , this lesson we covered more film reviews getting us ready for our controlled assessment coming up in a few weeks we have to write our own film review. After my English lesson I had Robs lesson in this lesson we did a lot of relaxing techniques because as you know acting is all about relaxing and letting everything be loose to act to perfection. All these exercises are really helping me and my class mates to absolutely nail our performances coming up very soon.
On Friday I had my English lesson as usual in the morning this lesson we actually started writing a draft film review and self assessed others peoples reviews in the class room. Then for the rest of the day I had Rob, in his lesson me and my class mates went over various amount of tongue twisters really trying to nail our articulations of words and saying them clearer which was really fun. Rob asked us to make out own tongue twisters up and present it to the class which was very helpful. After this in our last lesson of the day we had solid rehearsals after and performed them to Rob ,who again gave us more notes to take into consideration to really help us nail our roles. Robs improvement for me was to keep my arms by my side at all times, my other improvement was to under play my role the best I can to build tension instead of shouting as my character is angry but also thinks he's right and sees clearer then other even though he is blind.

Level 3 performing arts 21-25th September
On Monday we had Rob first a usual , we were in the theatre which was great to be back in there rehearsing. First we did warm ups as always to get us into character which is always fun. Then me and my partner Isiah rehearsed our play this rehearsal was even better then the last one. We really this time properly got a real sense of our characters. Afte rwe rehearsed for about 30 minutes ,we showed them to Rob who gave us feedback. Rob was impressed with my performance , he said my vocals were on point . Only thing he told me not to is not to point and stop dancing about ,he said only move if it's absolutely necessary. This helped me to controll my charcter as usual Robs feedback is always top class Rob is an incredible teacher I'm lucky to have him. But overal Rob was impressed with everyones first time performances.
On Tuesday was our day off as you know, I worked all day asual.
On Wednesday We had sharons lesson first asual in the computer room sharon asked to answer questions about our trip to the national theatre ,such as how many seats does the olivia theatre hold. After we had Rob in the same room, in this lesson we went over greek theatre Rob showed us a few clips of people talking about greek theatre which was really interesting. Rob set us a task he out us in groups, he asked my group to right about the greek theatres in general due next week which should be interesting as I can learn about how it was back in those times how theatre was.
On Thursday I had my english lesson with a new teacher they split our classrooms up my new teacher is called Hailey a really nice and good teacher. In my English lesson we were explained how the year would work and all our controlled assessments coming up.Our first official task was to read a film review and underline things we thought we could use in our film review assesment coming up in 3 weeks. The review really helpwd me how to structure mine. Then I had Robs lesson this lesson we didn't look at our scripts we looked at tongue twisters the hole lesson and relaxing exercises when acting which was really helpful towards my acting and Rob made sure we all nailed the exercise. Then we practised reading a monologue and pronunciations of words. After this we did a poem which was really fun. Rob asual watched and gave feedback my feeback was to not make a character just yet as it to was to soon. After this I did self directed learning which is using a free room to rehearse in my own time. I'm happy to say me and Iosiah practising away ,we have nailed all our lines which is really good next step showed them to Rob without the script this should be interesting.
On Friday we had Rob all day, we first started with some games to build up energy for rehearsing for our performance coming up in October. Firstly me and my partner Iosiah rehearsed our pieces and tuned them up abit for example building the tension at the right times and not to force to much.
I'm happy to say I performed it 3 times without a script which I'm veryhappy about. This just gives me more confidence for our performance coming up. After this we had Rob again this time Rob asked everyone group by group
to perform while he gave us notes. I thought everyone did very well while performing I was impressed. Robs notes for me was not to force my lines to much because it makes me look like I'm trying to hard he said just let it come naturally . His last improvement for me was not to wobble side to side , just to stand still and simply act.
This week I've learnt that to not force anything ,because it makes me look like I just want my lines to be over and don't care about my performance. Robs notes have helped me as usual.
Level 3 UAL performing arts 14-18th September
I'm going to write this blog for last week. We started our blog address late so I wasn't able to blog for last week.
First week starting from Monday-14th -18th September
On Monday was our first official day back at college. First was Robs lesson were we just did some rehearsal techniques getting us into shape for our upcoming performance in October. It was fun to be back I missed everyone my summer was beginning to get very boring without college and I made good friends so I was happy to be back. In Robs lesson we just played around doing acting exercises, such as improvising activities which was really fun. To get us back to the usual routine I did last year. Furthermore after Robs lesson we had Sharon's lesson our tutor, in this lesson we just went over the side of things for our course and some little acting activities. The little acting activities we did was reading and working on articulation of words from a Shakespeare play, which was good to help us improve the pronunciation of words. This really helped me to understand words I've never come across and helped me develop my acting skills. Also in Sharon's lesson we analysed the speech given to us of Romeo and Juliet ,which was explaining the mixed emotions along the speech, to help us understand the meaning behind the words when acting which was really helpful.
On Tuesday we didn't have college as it was our day off. On this day I worked all day ,as I have job to do that was my day.
On Wednesday we had Sharon first, in this lesson we worked on the theory side of things for our course. Which was signing papers for trips outside the college and doing the paperwork to give us permission to go on trips with the college. Next we had Robs lesson in the same room. In this lesson we set up our blogs for the year, although several people couldn't make a blog account from the computers at the college. Luckily mine worked ,I had no problems.
On Thursday was a very productive day we had Rob all day ,we just did all acting exercises which was mainly mouth exercises to pronounce words to the best if our ability before the big reveal was revealed. We were given our first scripts for our performance coming up in October. My play given to me was Oedipus , my character is An blind but very wise man who's sees everything more clearly then others but they don't believe him ,his name is Tyresias. My partner is my fellow class mate Iosiah who's character is Oedipus. We rehearsed it a few time we really liked the play.
On Friday as you know we went to the National Theatre which was really fun the theatre was great honestly the best on I've ever been to. Before we went we had a shortened lesson with Rob ,we did a few little excises of acting techniques then we left for the theatre.

National Theatre trip UAL
Tarkan Djemal National Theatre
UAL
On Friday we took a nice trip to the National Theatre, for a tour of the building based in Southbank. The tour we had was very nice ,they showed us all the theatres at the national, you got the first class theatre then second then third all theatres were good. Some background history of the theatre they told us was that it opened in 1963 22nd October ,so quite a while back. Its a magnificent theatre. The theatre currently holds 4 theatres Olivier Theatre which can hold 1,125 people, Lyttelton Theatre which can hold 890, Dorfman theatre which can hold 400 people and last but not least Temporary Theatre which can hold 225.The props the theatre had were great my favourite was the food props there were great the way they made it amazed me. The national theatre has staged over 800 performances and still going. Overall out of all the theatres I've been to the national theatre is by far the best one I've ever seen. It was a fun day I hope one day I can see a show there or at the least be up on stage one day. The national theatre is based in a perfect location. My favourite theatre was the Olivia theatre ,its so big it feels like your on top of the world when in that theatre. Its just amazing to sit there even if there isn't a show going on.
